The Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Project
The GEM Project understands that everyone is unique, with different needs and requirements, impacting on their steps into the world of employment, education or training. It is led completely by the individual, providing dedicated and personalised help, guidance and support, for every person enrolled on the project through their own tailored action plan. GEM participants have access to a wide range of options, from confidence building and advice with job searching, to opportunities in gaining qualifications and accessing training and work experience opportunities. The project can also provide support towards cost that might be incurred whilst enrolled in this project such as childcare and travel costs. The GEM project is jointly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund
The GEM Project supports people who want to move closer towards education, training or work. GEM Navigator Developers work alongside people towards this goal. GEM Navigator Developers provide personalized 1:1 support, a tailored action plan and access to a wide range of useful workshops.
The GEM project is a unique and unprecedented partnership of approximately 30 community based organisations, managed by Gloucestershire Gateway Trust (GGT) on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council.
